If you’re lusting for a KTM-engined race motorcycle, the 2024 Krämer GP2-890RR might fit the bill, the bill being USD 39,995 (RM181,457). Assembled in Krämer’s new factory in Burghausen, Germany, only 125 units of the GP2-890RR will be available worldwide, with delivery starting in September 2023.

Built for racetrack use only, the GP2-890RR carries Austrian motorcycle maker KTM’s 889cc parallel-twin engine, as seen in the KTM 890 Duke R (RM75,800 in Malaysia). The engine is tweaked with a Mectronik MKE7 ECU and Dell’Orto 48mm throttle body to produce 138 hp at 10,100 rpm with 100 Nm of torque at 8,200 rpm.

In case you’re wondering if 138 hp is adequate for a track bike in this age of 200 hp superbikes, the GP2-890RR weighs only 142 kg, wet. This is a power to weight ratio of 0.92 and if it is not enough, may we suggest you consult the services of a mental health professional.

Designed with an eye to racetrack performance, the GP2-890RR’s plastic fuel tank does double duty as the bike’s rear cowl with the filler cap behind the rider. This allows for optimum weight distribution, according to Kramer.

The GP2-890RR, as can be expected for the price, is equipped with premium components, including dual Brembo Stylema calipers, forged aluminium Dymag wheels, and top-shelf WP Apex Pro suspension. Standard equipment includes a Hyper Pro RCS steering damper and up-and-down quickshifter.

For the dashboard, an AiM MXS 1.3 Race GPS panel with data logger performs the necessary work, coupled with adjustable engine braking and throttle map. For fine tuning of the bike’s handling characteristics, there is nine level traction control (including and ‘Off’ mode), switchable wheelie control with five presets and pit lane speed limiter.
